Hazardous substances derived from the refining of crude oil are exempt from the hazardous substance possession fee, but not derivatives of these products. Propane most likely DOES NOT QUALIFY for this exemption. A recent study showed nearly 100% of propane delivered to Oregon is derived from other than the refining of crude oil. You will be REQUIRED to provide written confirmation from your supplier if you report propane and mark this exemption.
If you are only reporting gasoline and diesel and have received a fee, it is because the appropriate exemption has not been applied.
If you have not submitted your report, return to your initiated report. (See below for reports already submitted)
In Step 3, mark Exemption # 3 as yes for both diesel & gasoline.
Now submit your report. After you submit your report, select View Submission. The fee listed should now be $0
If your report was submitted prior to adding the Chemical Exemptions, a Revision report will need to be submitted.
Select Add new Report and choose Revision.
Select the Annual report you just submitted from the drop down list.
In Step 3, mark Exemption # 3 as yes for both diesel & gasoline. Complete all other necessary steps.
Submit your revision. The fee summary should say $0. If not, please contact the system administrator.
