This article is for facilities who have previously reported substations to the CR2K program on a single combined survey.
With the implementation of the CHS Manager, substations with hazardous substances will be reported separately. This will allow for the facilities to be properly linked to the responsible fire department and the local emergency planning committee. This is not possible if the previous reporting method is facilitated within CHS Manager.
To help facilities with substations transition to the online program, all substations will already be established as separate facilities in CHS Manager. This will not have to be done by operators. The previously submitted demographic information will be present, as well as the hazardous substance(s). The facility address will be the “storage location” previously reported on the single combined survey.
A couple items of note for substations in CHS Manager:
The exact substance amount of the hazardous substance will need to be entered. This will ensure the max code that was migrated over from the old data is correct.
The site address will need to be entered (street address or latitude/longitude).
The storage location (e.g. “generator building”) will need to be identified. This field previously identified the site address.
Substation operators should verify all of the migrated information such as the company name, addresses, points of contact, etc.
